Soleil Tibbets-Barnes

This is Soleil’s first year as a part of the Park West community. Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Soleil moved to Chicago to pursue a master’s degree at Loyola University Chicago in International Affairs. She also attended the College of Charleston, where she received BAs in Political Science and French and Francophone Studies. For two years, she lived in France, where she taught English at a primary school. The connections she built with her colleagues, students, and parents inspired her to pursue a career in teaching.
Soleil believes in the power of creativity and patience, two things that foster growth and meaningful encounters. She looks forward to all of the learning the year will bring and the ways in which she can share her knowledge through the philosophies of the Park West community.
When she is not in the classroom, she enjoys reading, listening to live music, collecting new plants, and all things outdoors!
