Park West Cooperative Nursery School applicants are chosen via an electronic lottery process to ensure enrollment is simple and fair.
The application process for new and returning students typically begins early Autumn when applications for the following school year are released via our Web site. Applications are due at the same time for returning and new students (typically early- to mid-February).
Students returning to Park West from the year prior, siblings of current or former students, children and grandchildren of former students and current staff, and students moving to the Nursery School Program from our Parent/Toddler II program are given priority status when placed in the lottery.
After all priority status applicants have been placed, remaining spots will be opened up to new students. All new students are selected by the lottery at random. Classes are generally divided equally between boys and girls, and separate waitlists are maintained for each gender and class. Once classes are filled, the remaining applicants are placed on a waitlist in case vacancies arise (which happens frequently).
For parents of multiples, please note that:
- Each child must submit an application and fee.
- Each applicant is entitled to one draw in the lottery.
- Should one child be selected for an open spot, multiple siblings will also receive an offer for the same class.
Once your family accepts a spot at Park West you have attained Priority Status and do not go through the lottery again, for that child or for any subsequent children.
Get to know our facilities and staff by attending one of our Prospective Parent Open Houses. You'll have the chance to see our classrooms and gym, learn about our approach, and speak with the current staff, teachers, and parents.

If you’d like to join our family, make sure you meet the deadlines for applying! Applications received after the deadline will be placed at the end of the waitlist established during our lottery process.
View each program's tuition to see how much attending Park West may cost or determine if you want to apply for financial aid.
Because we believe money should never be the deciding factor when it comes to education, we make financial aid available to all eligible families. Please note, Financial Aid is not available for our Parent/Toddler programs or Camp Sunshine.
