Admission Policies
– Parent/Toddler Program Applications
Applications for Park West Parent/Toddler Program are
generally available at the end of the calendar year for September
enrollment. All applications are due by noon April 4th
for the 2008-2009 school year. All
siblings applying to the Parent/Toddler program must also complete an
application.
Please note that admission into the P/T
program does not give you priority status into the Park West Cooperative
Nursery School Program.
Non-Discrimination Policy
PWCNS admits students regardless of race, gender, religion, disability
or ethnic origin. It does not discriminate in the administration of its
admissions or educational policies, financial assistance or other
programs.
Priority Status
Priority status is then conferred on siblings of present or former Park
West Cooperative Nursery School children.
The Admissions Lottery
All new applicants to Park West are selected on a lottery basis to fill
the spots remaining after the priority students have been admitted. That
lottery is held in April. We draw names one by one until we fill the
class. We continue drawing names until every name has been drawn and
these names are then placed on a waiting list. The Parent/Toddler
classes are generally divided equally between boys and girls, and
separate wait lists are maintained for each gender. Those wait lists
remain active in case a vacancy arises.
Please note that admission into the P/T
program does not give you priority status into the Park West Cooperative
Nursery School Program.
Multiples Policy
When a family has twins or triplets, etc., the following policies will
apply:
1. Each child must submit
an application
2. Each applicant is
entitled to one draw in the lottery
