Our School

Park West offers nurturing and stimulating half-day programs for children 2 1/2 to 4 years of age.  Our relaxed, though structured, format of free-play allows our children to explore their environment.  For the children of Park West, this school brings a nurturing oasis where they learn that discovering new things is messy business, full of risks but also full of joys; where they find that exploring with others and trusting new friends with new ideas is hard work but ultimately quite satisfying; and where they experience school as a place where they find as much about themselves as the world around them.

Our History and Location

In 1971, Park West was established by a group of parents who wanted to provide a nursery school for their children in which parents were involved in all aspects of their child’s first school experience.

Today, Park West continues this tradition and is a cooperative school where parents, as members, have certain benefits:  an opportunity to spend time with your children in the classroom and a chance to work as a community toward a collective goal.

Our facility is located in St. Pauls Church on the corner of Fullerton Avenue on the near north side of Chicago in the heart of Lincoln Park.
